Sandisk launches new SSD line for netbooks
Flash memory pioneer SanDisk launched a line of SSDs (solid state disks) aimed at ultra low-cost PCs (ULCPCs) and "netbooks."SSD line includes 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB models boasting claimed read speeds of 39MBs and streaming write performance of nearby 17MBs.
The SSDs use less expensive, higher-capacity multi-level cell (MLC) , as well as more reliable, traditional, but lower capacity single-level cell (SLC) according to SanDisk.
Availability
SanDisk says it will share the output with its long-time partner, Toshiba Corporation. Availability is expected in August.
